prodAEC - EU
Within prodAEC, AEC3 is working with other partners to address the problems of exchanging design, structural
analysis, equipment dimensioning, materials characterisation and other data.
It is also concerned with project organization, contract negotiation and project budgeting issues, along with project
management issues and requirements for workflow management during construction project execution.
Particularly relevant are awareness of existing standards for product modelling within construction and their
progressive harmonisation. Partners within the project are looking at how to bring together key standards including IFC
(now ISO 16739), ISO 10303 part 225 and ISO 12006 part 3. A major deliverable on an analysis of current awareness and use
of standards has been completed (D.4.1.2 Standard Analysis - Current AEC Situation - Building Models) and is publicly available.
